At the 2011 Le Mans 24-hour race, Audi unveiled the tuned-up R8 GT, with the naturally-aspirated V10 engine s output up from 525bhp to 552bhp. The cabin was stripped out, with bucket seats, thinner glass and polycarbonate body parts, saving about 187lb. The all-steel suspension was lowered and hardened with advice from Quattro GmBh, which had been competing in a GT racer.
